Meaning- which I found in the field of Mental Health.
Everyone who knows me, or knew me since I was much younger; as well as people who were acquaintances of people who knew me , knew for sure that I was going to be a dancer. it was with great confidence that I would announce since the age of 11-12 that, that was my career. It wasn’t until much later when I was privileged enough to go abroad to one of the top universities to do my degree in dance, that I missed academics, and specifically something to nourish, not just my mind but my soul. During my year, chasing after my (little girl) dreams, I observed the severe disregard that individuals had for their own mental health, and even more surprising their physical health. This realization stemmed from the insight of my own ignorance toward my own health and well-being. I watched people starve for days on end, use substances to dim their emotions, harm themselves to feel, put others down to feel good about themselves and turn a blind eye to someone who was suffering. And this bothered me! It bothered me more than someone displaying incorrect dance technique- way more!
I returned to Mumbai, determined to make my contribution. Sure enough observing similar and worse trends of mental ill-health everywhere. I completed my degree in Psychology and my Masters in Counselling Psychology, throughout keeping my eyes on the goal- to make a small contribution in the direction of Mental Health. Today, it gives me much contentment to introduce you to my new organization- ‘ImPerfect’.
‘ImPerfect‘ is committed to providing Counselling services to whoever is committed to improving their own Mental Health- without any barriers.
