Who Am I & Scope of Work

Special Education Teacher – with 28 years of experience in the field of special education. Teaching children and young adults with Learning Difficulties, Social and Emotional Problems, Slow Learners, Mentally Challenged, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism, Gifted and Talented.

Mental Health Practitioner – assisting individuals, families, groups and communities with use of Narrative Therapy.

Social Work – Volunteer, assist at non-profit organizations supporting people with special needs.

Mental Health Enrichment Program – Founder, and conducts bi-monthly programs for senior citizens.

Counselling, Support and guidance to the individual seniors as well as the caregivers.

Work Experience

(From June 1995 to April 2024.)

  • Working as a Senior Special Education Teacher.
  • Referred students are assessed for their abilities and limitations.
  • Individualized Educational Programs are developed and carried out to provide remedial teaching, after detailed assessments with respect to educational, social and emotional problems.
  • Counselling students, parents and teachers on implementing special techniques in teaching.
  • Counselling students and families with a narrative approach.
  • Interpreting assessed results by specialized professionals like neurologists, psychologists, psychiatrist, and speech and occupational therapists.
  • Coordinating with class teachers to plan special lessons and tests for students with special needs.
  • Preparing and maintaining student records and progress reports.
  • Organizing and conducting workshops and seminars for students, parents and teachers.
  • Home visits if required to ascertain the home environment, and specific problems with language and culture, affecting the student’s development.
