Therapeutic Approach

I believe, people are experts in their own lives.  I follow the principles of Narrative therapy that seeks a respectful, non-blaming approach to counselling and community work.  In my therapeutic approach I help individuals identify their values and skills, and how to use them to meet problems. Separating the problem from the individual to help clients gain perspective and reduce feelings of shame or self-blame. Thus, help individuals construct more useful stories about themselves to make sense of their experiences, thoughts, and feelings. Empowering them to explore and reshape their life stories.

With students, whom I assist with special education, I use a multi-sensory approach. This involves individually planned program depending on individual needs. To equip them with life skills and knowledge. To help students develop emotionally and socially to build self-esteem, achieve success and be self-sufficient in life.
